What criteria must an application meet to pass the .Brand TLD Eligibility Evaluation?

To pass evaluation, the application must show that:

  • The applied-for string exactly matches the textual elements of a Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH)-verified trademark. If applicable, the final applied-for string must also meet all relevant requirements following a .Brand String Change Request.
  • The applicant and the applied-for string meet all Specification 13 criteria, including the requirement that the TLD is used only for the brand owner, its Affiliates, and its trademark licensees, and not for generic purposes. Learn more about the prohibition of "Closed Generics" here.
  • The applicant self-certifies compliance with all .Brand TLD requirements in the application.
