Will ICANN New gTLD Auction deposits be paid to the same account used for application fees?

A detailed set of ICANN New gTLD Auction rules, including auction payment procedures, will be developed by ICANN in consultation with the auction provider and made available no later than 60 days before the first auction.

For reference, in the 2012 Round, auction deposits were paid to an escrow account managed by the escrow provider, rather than to the account used for application fees, which was managed by ICANN. Applicants should not assume that the same arrangements will apply in the 2026 Round until the applicable auction rules and procedures are published.
