A contention set will become eligible for an ICANN New gTLD auction only after any applicable contention-related processes have been completed. Depending on the applications in the contention set, these may include:
- Community Priority Evaluation (CPE), where applicable.
- Resolution of any applicable objections and appeals.
- Completion of any applicable Evaluation Challenges.
- Resolution of any relevant Application Change Requests.
- Resolution of any pending Accountability Mechanisms.
As these processes may conclude at different times, the timing for when a contention set becomes eligible for auction will vary.
