When does the Registry Commitments Evaluation take place?

In general, the Registry Commitments Evaluation (RCE) occurs during the Application Evaluation phase before contracting. Nevertheless, there may be more urgent cases where this evaluation must take place to allow certain dependent processes to proceed and, in those cases, the RCE will be conducted as early as possible once the required conditions are met.

For example, if a Community Application is in contention and the applicant elects the Community Priority Evaluation (CPE) in order to resolve contention, the RCE needs to be conducted before the CPE begins. In this context, the RCE assesses whether the applicant's proposed Community Registration Policies can be approved for inclusion in the Registry Agreement, while the CPE later evaluates whether those policies align with the stated community objective.

For Registry Voluntary Commitments (RVCs) proposed to address objections or Governmental Advisory Committee (GAC) Consensus Advice, the RCE is initiated as soon as possible after the applicable evaluation fee is received to avoid delaying subsequent steps.

In most cases, the evaluation is expected to take 60 to 90 days, absent extraordinary circumstances.
