What documentation do I need if my variant string is a dictionary word?

Criterion 1: Documentation for Meaning or Intended Meaning of the String

An applicant seeking one or more allocatable variant strings that match a word in a dictionary should provide the following documentation during the application process:

  • The language in which the variant string is a word.
  • The reference of a contemporary dictionary for that language which contains the word (including the name of the dictionary, year of publication, publisher details, edition of the dictionary, and/or its URL).
  • Complete entry in the dictionary for that word with meaning. The entry should identify the word and the relevant meaning as contemporary and general purpose, not as historical or specialized purpose.
