Singular/Plural Notifications received during the 30 days immediately following String Confirmation Day are evaluated to determine if the relevant applied-for string represents the singular or plural form of the same word in the same language as another applied-for gTLD, an existing gTLD, a string being processed from a previous new gTLD round, or a Blocked Name.

| Methodology | ICANN reviews submitted materials for the Singular/Plural Notification to determine whether certain applied-for strings represent singular and plural versions of the same word in the same language. ICANN may independently verify the source material. For Singular/Plural criteria, see 4.4.1 Singular/Plural Notifications Requirements. |

| Evaluation Challenge | Applicants have one opportunity to challenge the results of a Singular/Plural Notification Evaluation within 21 days after the issuance of 1) the notification that the application has been placed in a contention set or 2) that the application cannot proceed, based on a validated Singular/Plural Notification. Evaluation Challenges must be filed through the TLD Application Management System (TAMS) and are assessed under the "clearly erroneous" standard described in Section 4.4.4 Challenging the Singular/Plural Notifications Evaluation of the AGB. Evaluation Challenges are published to the ICANN Community Wiki and to the Evaluation Challenge Mechanism page (coming soon). |
