Can an applicant change their replacement string after the gTLD application submission period closes?

No, an applicant is not permitted to change its replacement string after submitting its application. Once an application is submitted, the applied-for string cannot be changed except via .Brand String Change in order to resolve contention. The .Brand String Change is only available to .brand applicants.
