What happens during the replacement period?

During the replacement period, applicants that designated an eligible replacement string with their original gTLD application may choose whether or not to use the replacement string.

Applicants with an eligible replacement string:

  • Will receive a task in the TLD Application Management System (TAMS) to submit a Replacement String Attestation to choose between their original applied-for string and their replacement string.
  • Can only submit one Replacement String Attestation per application.
  • Cannot change their selection after the Replacement String Attestation has been submitted.

The replacement period is open for 14 days following Reveal Day.
