All applicants must answer questions in the Question Set 10: Safeguard Assessment of the application. These responses are published for public review. The Safeguard Assessment evaluation panel will review the responses to those questions and relevant application comments. After the Application Comment period closes, the panel will decide whether the applied-for string falls into one of the four categories that will require Safeguard PICs as an outcome of the assessment.
Applicant's answers to Question Set 10 are not, themselves, determinative as to whether or which Safeguard PICs must be incorporated in the Registry Agreement if the application proceeds to contracting. The Safeguard Assessment evaluation panel will make such a determination on a case-by-case basis by considering the TLD application types, application comments, and other factors deemed relevant by the panel. In other words, answering "yes" to any question in Question Set 10 would not automatically trigger a requirement for the inclusion of certain Safeguard PIC(s) in the RA."
