Yes, there is an exception for .Brand TLD applications. If an applied-for .Brand TLD is found to be Visually Similar to any category of strings compared in the String Similarity Evaluation, and therefore cannot proceed or is placed into a contention set, the applicant may request a Brand String Change in order to proceed to the next stage of the program.
