All applicants must answer questions in the Safeguard Assessment section of the application. These responses are published for public review. After the application comment period closes, the Safeguard Assessment evaluation panel will review the responses to those questions and relevant application comments. Then the panel will decide whether the applied-for string falls into one of the four categories that will require Safeguard PICs as an outcome of the assessment.
