What are the components of Applicant Evaluation?

Applicant Evaluation consists of two components, both of which are mandatory for all applicants:

  1. Background Screening: Checks the applicant's background to ensure only established and reputable entities are allowed to operate a new gTLD. Applications may be denied if concerns are identified. Learn more.
  2. Financial and Operational Evaluation: Reviews whether the applicant has the financial and operational capacity as well as the safeguards needed to successfully run a registry in the long term while addressing concerns about misuse of the gTLD. Learn more.
