Which strings are compared in the String Similarity Evaluation?

Each applied-for primary string, along with all of its allocatable and blocked variant strings, is compared against:

  • Existing delegated gTLDs and their variant strings.
  • Applied-for gTLD strings from the current application round and previous rounds that are still in the process, and their variant strings.
  • Existing successfully evaluated or delegated ccTLDs and their variant strings.
  • Strings requested as IDN ccTLDs.
  • Certain Blocked Names and their variant strings.
  • All two-character ASCII strings and their variant strings.
