What is Background Screening?

This content is available only in English Language

Background screening is a key mechanism to assess risk and facilitate registrant protection by ensuring only established corporations, organizations or institutions in good standing apply for a new gTLD. Background screening helps to protect the public interest in the allocation of critical Internet resources, and ICANN org reserves the right to deny an otherwise qualified application based on any information identified during the background screening process.
