As part of the .Brand String Change, the applicant can request to add one or more words to the original applied-for .Brand TLD string. Note that the following rules apply:

  • The added word(s) must appear in the goods and services description of the applicant's trademark registration that's submitted in support of the application.
  • A different trademark registration may be submitted to support the string change, but it must clearly show and legally confirm that the applicant is the trademark owner.
  • Translation of the applicant's trademark will not be accepted.
  • The new string cannot be in contention with any other string.

If the applicant originally applies for any variant string(s) of the .Brand TLD string, they will no longer be valid. The applicant will need to select a new variant string(s) to apply for, if still desired, based on the new .Brand TLD string.

Note: ICANN may verify any documentation submitted to support the .Brand String Change request, and the applicant will need to pay for any applicable costs.
