Before the application window opens, ICANN will publish datasets showing historical DNS query patterns for strings with query volumes above a defined threshold. These datasets provide helpful insight but are only one of several factors considered during the risk assessment for name collision. A low query volume does not guarantee that a string will be deemed safe for delegation.
