Per the Applicant Guidebook, Internationalized Domain Name (IDN) applications follow special prioritization rules.

  • Variant string applications of existing IDN gTLDs are automatically included and drawn first without the need for applicants to purchase a ticket.
  • Depending on how many IDN applications participate, a set portion of each group of 500 applications is reserved for IDNs.
  • Non-participating IDN applications continue to receive priority placement, after all participating applications receive the priority number, until all IDNs are assigned Priority Numbers.

See Applicant Guidebook Section 3.7.3 Prioritization of IDN Applications for more information.
